Terms of Service

The HandyBear provides professional services including, but not limited to, garage doors (installation, repair, maintenance), low voltage systems (access control, security cameras, alarm systems), and windows and doors installation and repair for residential and commercial properties in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

When you submit a service request through our website or contact us by phone, you are requesting an estimate. All quotes provided are estimates based on the information you provide. Final pricing may vary based on actual job conditions, materials needed, and time required to complete the work.

• •Quotes are typically provided within 24 hours of your request
• •Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified
• •Additional work discovered during a job may require a revised quote

We strive to accommodate your scheduling needs. Please note the following:

• •We will confirm appointment times at least 24 hours in advance when possible
• •Cancellations require at least 24 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee
• •If our technician cannot access the property at the scheduled time, a trip charge may apply
• •Weather conditions or emergencies may require rescheduling at no charge

Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

• •We accept cash, credit cards, and e-transfer
• •For larger projects, a deposit may be required before work begins
• •All prices are in Canadian dollars and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated

We stand behind our workmanship. All labour performed by The HandyBear is guaranteed for 30 days from the date of completion. This warranty covers:

• •Defects in workmanship that become apparent within the warranty period
• •Repairs needed due to our work failing under normal use conditions

This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, normal wear and tear, or alterations made by others after our work is completed.

The HandyBear carries appropriate liability insurance for our services. However, our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We are not responsible for:

• •Pre-existing conditions or hidden damage discovered during work
• •Damage to items not related to the work being performed
• •Delays caused by factors beyond our control (weather, material shortages, etc.)
• •Consequential or indirect damages

To ensure smooth service delivery, you agree to:

• •Provide accurate information about the work needed
• •Ensure safe and clear access to the work area
• •Inform us of any known hazards (asbestos, electrical issues, etc.)
• •Secure pets and remove valuables from the work area
• •Be available or designate someone to make decisions during the work

Some work may require permits or must be performed by licensed trades (electrical, plumbing). We will advise you if your project requires permits or specialized trades. The HandyBearis not responsible for obtaining permits unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Manitoba. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
